Chelsea is our most requested bouquet, and the one we build most often at six in the morning. It starts with Memory Lane roses — a dusky lilac-pink garden rose with a heavy head and an old-fashioned scent — then layers in pink spray roses for volume and purple alstroemeria for depth.
Astrantia and white wax flower do the quiet work: small, textural, slightly wild, they stop the arrangement looking like a florist’s set piece and make it look like something gathered. Seasonal greens are cut from whatever arrived best at market that week, so no two Chelseas are identical.
It suits almost any occasion, which is why it sells. Soft enough for a new baby, generous enough for a birthday, grown-up enough for a thank you to a colleague. If you are unsure what to send, this is the safe answer that never looks like a safe answer.
Every Chelsea is hand-tied, aqua-wrapped so the stems travel in water, and delivered with a handwritten card. We photograph each bouquet before it leaves the bench.
